Termination Orders is an action thriller that races the reader through narrow escapes, betrayals, and heroism as main character, Dan Morgan, is simultaneously hunted by a double-crossing CIA and Congress, vengeful foreign agents, a corporate drug ring, the Taliban, and narco-terrorists. The twisting, turning plotline features memorable characters drawn from actual incidents, as they make their way through a tangled web of ethical questions, personal priorities, and suspense that makes every chapter compulsive reading in gripping scenes of torture, assassination, and double agents.
Morgan's CIA training included numerous ways to kill someone using only bare hands, but his use of specialized high tech weaponry for targeted termination is detailed as an art form few mission specialists could match. The storyline includes episodes of counterterrorism, hostage rescue, target reconnaissance, water boarding, traitors and mental games as Morgan prevails against all odds.

The crescendo of events is set across three contents in a you-are-there depiction where nothing is as it seems, from a fireside ambush at a Kandahar village pig roast to the inner, vast, antiseptic halls of the CIA to a window ledge view through a sniper scope aimed at Kaddafi in Libya. Partly based on historical fact, "Termination Orders" begins in the 1960s, as the author learned first hand the behind the scenes policies of the United States on the world stage.

In order to publish Maloney's narrative, a masterly blend of Black Ops intrigue is cleverly interwoven with imaginative sequences of fiction. The reader must guess which accounts are real and which are merely storytelling, much like the CIA Operatives must "call" the blurred lines between money and politics, between U.S. Corporatocracy and the government "of the people," all in a split-second life and death decision made in our name. The book ends with the expectation of sequel missions when Morgan is contacted by a clandestine organization more secretive and powerful than the CIA.
